Sea Change - As we fly across the ocean on a paper airplane miles high, I smell the salt dancing off your skin. Tempest wind is throwing us closer to the sun. It reaches out its burning hands and pulls us from blue sky. It cradles us as infant stars, and turns your hair into a flame that singes all our hope. Across a sea of change I fly. I'll scatter you, love, take me with you. The fire burning brighter as the sun holds us close. I feel it spread behind my eyes and see it strike your lashes. Diving to the ocean turning slowly to ash, your body falls to crashing waves and gyres into black. It chokes my helpless screams as I fall after the smoke, a bastard raincloud. Across a sea of change I fly. I'll scatter you, love, take me with you. A fire burns after you die. It's all I feel, and all the pain I know. God is fate, God is hopelessness. God is always changing, while we stay the same. Now I'm trapped in an hourglass. The sand raining down suffocates me, and I'm under before it runs out. My God is time.
